DESCRIPTION:On Sunday\, August 30\, we welcome guest soprano Leah Yackanech\, who will serve as cantor at both our 8:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. services. Leah is a graduate of the Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music (CCM) and is now continuing her studies at the Peabody Conservatory. She has previously sung and worked with major Episcopal churches in Ohio and has participated in numerous distinguished vocal and opera programs. \nDuring both services\, Leah will sing two wonderful arias by Johann Sebastian Bach: “Ich folge dir gleichfalls” (“I will follow you likewise”) and “Bist du bei mir” (“If you are with me”). These works beautifully connect with the themes of the day’s Scripture readings\, expressing faith\, devotion\, and trust in God’s presence. \nLeah will be accompanied by our Director of Music\, Lauma Akmene.
