DESCRIPTION:St. Peter’s Episcopal Church will host a candlelight service of Advent Lessons and Carols on Sunday evening\, December 8 at 7 p.m. Originating in Anglican churches in the 19th century\, the service of Advent Lessons and Carols features nine scripture lessons\, each followed by an Advent carol or choral piece. All are invited to participate in this beautiful and meaningful choral event featuring St. Peter’s Choir and organist and director James Wallace. An offering will be collected to support St. Peter’s ministries to the homeless population. The public is warmly invited. This event will also be livestreamed.

DESCRIPTION:The Diocese’s Southern Convocation clergy are gathering for their monthly worship and meeting next Tuesday\, November 5\, which is also Election Day. They will meet at St. Alban’s in Salisbury for a special Evening Prayer which will focus on prayers and readings for our nation and the election. The clergy are inviting all clergy and lay people from the Southern Convocation to join them and participate in Evening Prayer. Father David Michaud\, our Rector and the Dean of the Southern Convocation\, will be there and encourages members of St. Peter’s to come to St. Alban’s for this special Evening Prayer at 5:30 p.m. on November 5. Note that St. Alban’s will be open all day for a vigil on Election Day. \nPrayer for Elections\nAlmighty God\, to whom we must account for all our powers and privileges: Guide the people of the United States in the election of officials and representatives; that\, by faithful administration and wise laws\, the rights of all may be protected and our nation be enabled to fulfill your purposes; through Jesus Christ our Lord. DESCRIPTION:The Presiding Bishop elect\, the Rt Rev Sean Rowe\, will be invested in the office of Presiding Bishop on Saturday\, November 2\, at the Episcopal Church headquarters in New York City. Previous Presiding Bishops have had their investiture service at the National Cathedral but Bishop Rowe is seeking to save money and include more people by having his investiture livestreamed from the Episcopal Church Center chapel and having watch parties in all 110 dioceses of the Episcopal Church. St. Peter’s will be the watch party site for the Southern Convocation of the Diocese of Easton and all are invited to come and participate. \nThe event begins at 9:30 a.m. on November 2 with the Roll Call of the Dioceses. The service itself begins at 11 a.m. Mark your calendars.

DESCRIPTION:St. Peter’s is partnering with Wicomico Goes Purple — a substance misuse awareness campaign that focuses on prevention\, treatment and recovery resources available in our community. The Wicomico Goes Purple initiative encourages people to get the facts\, get involved\, and start talking so that together we can help shatter the stigma of addiction.  This September we have been praying the prayer for the victims of addiction during the Prayers of the People and we are lighting up our bell tower at night in purple light. \nThis Saturday join in the Shatter the Stigma Walk at 9:30 a.m. at Wor-Wic Community College.
