SUMMARY:First Choir School Rehearsal
DESCRIPTION:The Choir School of the Eastern Shore will meet Wednesdays at 1pm in St. Peter’s Choir Room under the direction of Music Director James Wallace. There has been interest by the Homeschooled community in participating and so the school’s hours will be compatible with their school day\, although it is open to all youth.  This will be a treble choir — the program is open to girls in grades 2 through high school\, and boys in grade 2 through voice change (boys with changed voices are invited to join the men’s section of the adult choir). SUMMARY:Wicomico Goes Purple Service
DESCRIPTION:St. Peter’s is partnering with Wicomico Goes Purple — a substance misuse awareness campaign that focuses on prevention\, treatment and recovery resources available in our community. The Wicomico Goes Purple initiative encourages people to get the facts\, get involved\, and start talking so that together we can help shatter the stigma of addiction.  This September we have been praying the prayer for the victims of addiction during the Prayers of the People and we are lighting up our bell tower at night in purple light. \nThis Saturday join in the Shatter the Stigma Walk at 9:30 a.m. at Wor-Wic Community College. DESCRIPTION:Sacred Ground is an Episcopal Church film- and readings-based dialogue series on race\, grounded in faith. A small group is invited to walk through chapters of America’s history of race and racism\, while weaving in threads of family story\, economic class\, and political and regional identity. \nThe series is built around a powerful online curriculum of documentary films and readings that focus on Indigenous\, Black\, Latino\, and Asian/Pacific American histories as they intersect with European American histories. \nOur own Pastor Greg and parishioners Karen Shields and Linda Hurley are the facilitators for this Tuesday evening series which begins October 1 at 7 p.m. in the Library. \nCome to an information session on Sunday\, September 22 at 930am in the library to learn more and to ask questions.  The facilitators plan to show a sampling of what the class will see in the series. SUMMARY:Torch Bearer and Crucifer Training
DESCRIPTION:Immediately after the 8:30 a.m. service this Sunday there will be a training for all new torch bearers and crucifers. Meet Deacon Lynn in the church. All children in elementary school are eligible and encouraged to be torch bearers. All youth in middle school are eligible and encouraged to be crucifers. Adults who are interested in being a crucifer at the 10:30 a.m. service are also welcome to take part in the training. All who have been trained can then be scheduled to serve at the altar. Training for new acolytes will take place the following Sunday\, on September 22.
