Reserve your Sunday for giving Altar Flowers
Posted on the bulletin board in the Parish House hallway are reservation cards and a calendar for reserving your Sunday for Altar Flowers in memory or in honor of loved ones. Similar to the calendar for reserving weeks for the Sanctuary Light, the Altar Flowers Calendar allows parishioners to reserve a Sunday in advance for the year. First and foremost: Please check the Altar Flowers Calendar and sign your name to reserve your Sunday or call the Parish Office to ask about availability: 410-742-5118.
Once reserved, you will be reminded the week before about your commitment to contact a florist and arrange for flowers to be delivered to the church for placement by the Altar Guild on the altar. You may want to check the calendar every so often and if no one has offered to provide flowers for the next Sunday, to sign up for that Sunday.
There have been a number of Sundays this year in which no one has pledged to provide flowers for the altar. The Altar Guild has decided to work with Kitty’s Flowers to make sure there are flowers on the altar for those open Sundays so our altars will continue to be appropriately adorned. The cost for flowers on those Sundays will come from the Altar Guild Fund. The Fund is used to purchase all altar supplies, and so the more Sundays that parishioners are able to take for flowers, the less that will be needed from the fund to pay for flowers. Donations to the Altar Guild are always appreciated and these donations will help ensure that we have flowers on the altar every appropriate Sunday. Altar Flower Fund donation envelopes can be found on the table outside the Parlor and from the Parish Office.
