Handel’s Messiah All-Sing

St. Peter’s annual performance of Handel’s glorious oratorio, “Messiah,” will take place on Sunday, December 22 at 6:00 p.m. Admission is free but donations are welcomed to defray the costs of the concert. Since the audience is the chorus, all are encouraged to bring scores (Watkins-Shaw edition preferred), but they will also be on sale for $10 at the door.
The professional orchestra will bring the performance to life, and four wonderful vocal soloists will carry the familiar arias and duets: Hayley Abramovitz, Soprano; Hunter Shaner, Countertenor; John Wesley Wright, Tenor; and Andrew Boisvert, Bass.
The performance is conducted by St. Peter’s Music Director, James Wallace.
There will be an optional choral rehearsal for those who would like to brush up before the performance on Monday, Dec. 16, from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Of course all members of the public are invited to attend the concert, whether they will sing or listen, and regardless of whether they can come to the rehearsal.
The church is at the corner of W. Church St. and St. Peters St. in Salisbury. The small parking lot at 110 W. Church St. is reserved for handicapped parking, but there is ample street parking in the neighborhood.
Don’t miss this glorious musical event — it will make your holiday season!
