Last Sunday After the Epiphany

February 15 @ 10:30 am - 11:30 pm

St. Peter’s Episcopal Church joyfully invites the community to celebrate The Last Sunday after the Epiphany at our 10:30 AM worship service on Sunday, February 15. This special service will feature an extended choir, including well-beloved professional singers from our community, joining the St. Peter’s Choir under the direction of Lauma Akmene, Music Director.

The music for this service is truly extraordinary. The choir will offer Epiphany Alleluias by Weaver, a radiant and uplifting anthem that masterfully blends traditional choral writing with a profound sense of reverence. Also featured will be Morten Lauridsen’s O Nata Lux, a serene and luminous a cappella motet celebrating the Redeemer. This beloved work is drawn from Lauridsen’s larger composition Lux Aeterna for chorus, orchestra, and organ, and reflects the natural rhythm of chant through its flowing changes in meter. It stands as a jewel of the modern sacred choral repertoire.

Come and celebrate the close of the Epiphany season with beautiful music that lifts the soul and praises God, as we prepare our hearts for the beginning of Lent.
