Spring Music Ministry Concert

May 17 @ 4:00 pm

Join us for an engaging afternoon of music featuring the St. Peter’s Adult Choir, Handbell Choir, guest soloists, and student musicians from Salisbury University. The program includes a mix of sacred and secular works spanning centuries, with music by Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Jacques Ibert, Ralph Vaughan Williams, Ola Gjeilo, and others.

Featured soloists include tenor Lance Fisher, a Peabody Conservatory graduate and member of the Washington National Opera Chorus; soprano Tara Malabug Kitchelt, recently seen as Zerlina in Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s Don Giovanni with Chicago Summer Opera; saxophonist Stephen Philip Harvey, leader of the Stephen Philip Harvey Jazz Orchestra (SPHJO); and organist Lauma Akmene, international concert organist and Music Director at St. Peter’s.

The choir will be joined by additional guest singers, including soprano Statz Dolan, an experienced international performer and former U.S. Air Force “Singing Sergeant”; mezzo-soprano Alyssa Stanton, cantor at St. Mary of God Parish in Washington, DC; and tenor Dashiell Waterbury, who has performed with San Francisco Opera, Wolf Trap Opera, Houston Grand Opera, Opera Orlando, Cincinnati Opera, Opera in the Heights, and West Edge Opera.

The concert will also showcase student section leaders from Salisbury University, who will join the ensemble, highlighting emerging musical talent alongside the parish’s adult choirs and handbell ensemble. Together, they present a varied and uplifting program celebrating artistry, collaboration, and community.
Admission is free and all are welcome. This promises to be a wonderful concert not to be missed.
